There are thousands of faiths in this world that believe in a super power which most term as God. If we consider all different faiths, we would probably cover all types of beliefs that can be perceived by the human mind. One of the faiths believes in reincarnation, while the other doesn’t believe in deities. There are faiths that say nature is god, while there are faiths that believe god lives in this world. Overall, if one takes an ‘everyone is correct’ approach, we might end up with all possible beliefs that a human mind can imagine.
So if GOD exists in all possible forms and beliefs, how will he look? What kind of a composition can define god? Can there be a common factor for all the different religions that is the sole definition of god? Could it be just that all religions knowingly or unknowingly is based on that sole definition and have added other addendum to make people follow them?
To arrive at a decisive answer based on limited reasoning available to humans, i tried looking at life from an atheists point of view. A person who believes in god lives in the same world with the same fear of death and pain like an atheist who lives here. Most faiths believe in God as the creator of this world. If God is extremely powerful enough to create such diverse and capable beings, why would he bother providing an option to people called atheism, unless he wants that to happen? If he wants that to happen, one tends to wonder why religious groups and non-atheists bother too much about converting them back to believers of god.
I am a believer in god and many years back followed the rituals of praying without even questioning. As my understanding of life and god grew, i started ‘feeling’ God as an energy that definitely excites me. I felt the energy change whenever my thoughts change. I know, this sounds absurd but i am not trying to cover up anything. With 100% success rate all the time for years, i have now started believing that i feel something that i cannot see or hear. Whenever i tried to push myself out of many religious beliefs, I never felt anything negative from the energy i kept sensing. So i discovered (or so i thought) that many rituals don’t mean anything. Don’t get me wrong here – i still believe in god!
When i kept going on these lines, i realised a truth. Over time, as i kept changing myself trying to get out of defined but not understood rituals, one thing didn’t change – My blind belief and faith towards god. It only got better over time. Going by which i think, God is nothing but faith. One can believe a piece of stone to be his / her god and that faith, if honest and true is what God ‘looks like’. All other theories, i believe, are just theories to organise humans as a group to enable survival and to accelerate growth.
